FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Sweetser Construction, Inc. of Fayetteville has started work on the widening of Razorback Road from Martin Luther King Boulevard to just north of Nettleship Drive.

Crews will widen the road to four lanes, install a new storm drain system, place curb and gutter and sidewalks along the road and apply a new asphalt surface. A new traffic signal and an additional turning lane will also be constructed at the intersection of Razorback Road and Leroy Pond Drive.

Drivers are urged to use caution and allow extra time when traveling through the work zone. Increased traffic enforcement is scheduled in this work area.

In February 2014 the Arkansas Highway Commission awarded a $2,234,929.90 contract to Sweetser Construction for the project. Work on the project is expected to be completed by the spring of 2015.
