Looper Named an OSU Advanced Graduate of Distinction
Michael Looper, head of the animal science department at the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture, was recently named an Advanced Graduate of Distinction by the Oklahoma State University animal science department. Looper received his B.S. degree in 1992 and M.S. degree in 1994 in animal science from the University of Arkansas. He received his doctoral degree in reproductive physiology from OSU in 1999.
The Advanced Graduate of Distinction award was created in 1984 and recognizes OSU alumni with M.S and Ph.D. degrees in animal science who have attained singular professional excellence in the field of animal agriculture.
Looper coordinates the animal science research and extension programs of the Division of Agriculture. He has served as lead scientist of the Food Animal Production program at the U.S. Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service. He has also been associate editor and division editor for the Journal of Animal Science and has advised or co-advised 14 graduate students. He has been an author or co-author of more than 160 non-abstract, scientific publications.
