Crystal Bridges Museum Celebrates International Student Day

BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art will celebrate International Student Day at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, with a series of events that will showcase the diversity, values, and cultures in the area.

For this special program, the museum will feature countries from around the world, which are represented by students from Spain, Italy, Congo, Miramar, China, Japan, Israel, Bolivia, Columbia, Mexico, Peru and more.

Guests and students will be welcomed to Crystal Bridges in a variety of languages. A parade of flags will grace the museum’s hall and exchange students will model in a global fashion show.

Other events include creative handwriting and henna design demonstrations, an art talk featuring a work from Crystal Bridges’ temporary exhibition, “The William S. Paley Collection: A Taste for Modernism,” and world music performances.

The museum’s education team hopes the event will spark cultural dialogue and expose guests to multiple perspectives when viewing and experiencing art. 

“Learning about art is fun,” said Sara Segerlin, senior museum educator. “Crystal Bridges is a center for the exchange of ideas and cultures for international students and we hope they share their experiences with their home countries.”
