UA Schola Cantorum to Present Three 'Farewell' Concerts Before Tour of Puerto Rico

The University of Arkansas Schola Cantorum will sing three "Farewell" concerts tonight, tomorrow, and Saturday. These preview concerts will be the final preparatory events for the choir before they leave on a seven-day concert tour to Puerto Rico.

The Schola Cantorum will give multiple concerts in Ponce and San Juan and will collaborate with the University of Puerto Rico and the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico. The tour will finish will a headlining concert, by invitation, at the Cathedral San Juan Battista in Old San Juan.

Each concert will feature a variety of works representing music from both American and Latin American cultures.

These local "Farewell" concerts are free and open to the public.

  • Thursday March 13, 7:30 p.m. – Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall, FNAR 140
  • Friday March 14, 7:30 p.m. – First United Methodist Church, Rogers, Ark.
  • Saturday March 15, 7:30 p.m. – University Baptist Church, Fayetteville, Ark.
