Speak for Yourself Collaborates With World Languages and International Groups on Traveling Theme
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Come out to Speak for Yourself: Arkansas Traveler Show to tell and hear your stories about rambling! Where have you been? Did traveling make an impact on your character? Have you ever been a “stranger in a strange land?” Tell us stories about experiences on the road—vacations, jobs, education, escaping, bumming round, etc. Whether it was to Tulsa or Tazmania, come share in the “Arkansas Traveler” stories at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 2. Maxine’s Taproom is located at 107 N. Block Street in Fayetteville. No cover. Must be 21 to enter.
Speak for Yourself is a storytelling show by the community, for the community. It is simple storytelling. No paper, no poems, no songs—just tell us a true story about a moment in your life when you encountered a foreign land and culture. The show on March 2 is a collaboration with Kathleen Condray, associate professor and German section head at the University of Arkansas. The show is open to the public. Sign up is at 6:30. Take a story or leave a story, just be yourself and Speak for Yourself.
Speak for Yourself is a part of Sunday Night Service at Maxine's, a performance series also featuring the All You Need to Know Show (an information variety show), Whosie Whatsit (a game show), and Bandtastic (live music). Sunday Night Service is produced by the Artist’s Laboratory Theatre in partnership with Maxine’s Taproom.
