Security Strengthened for Departmental Copiers

The Departmental Copier Program at PMC Solutions has teamed up with the University of Arkansas Information Security Team to strengthen security for copiers throughout campus. Extra security measures are being implemented to protect copiers from receiving unauthorized print jobs originating from outside of the university network.

Additionally, PMC Solutions is taking steps to ensure that all copiers are configured to use an encrypted communication protocol (SSL) to further strengthen the integrity of our copier security. Both of these changes will occur in the background and should not affect copier service.

Both the Departmental Copier Program and the University of Arkansas Information Security Team are committed to keeping our campus resources as secure as possible, while also providing seamless and uninterrupted service.

If you or anyone in your department has questions regarding these upcoming changes, please contact Penny Bellard, co-director of PMC Solutions, at bellard@uark.edu for more information.
