Social Work Action Group Hosts Open Enrollment Event

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The School of Social Work in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences and the Social Work Action Group, also known as SWAG, will host an Affordable Care Act open enrollment event from 5 p.m. until 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the Fayetteville Public Library.

“Having a place that provides access to sign up for private health insurance or Medicaid is an unmet need on campus and in Fayetteville,” said Zachary Ash, SWAG member.

The Fayetteville Public Library is open and accessible to the public. Anyone may receive assistance in choosing a health insurance plan during the free event.

The Social Work Action Group’s primary objective is to enhance the learning experience of social work students while attending the university. It is a registered student organization for social work majors and minors and has been part of the School of Social Work for more than a decade. Under the guidance of a faculty adviser, the organization is run by and intended for the professional development of students. Membership helps students increase their involvement in social work issues and become better prepared for a career in social work
