Ricke to Address Session at IPPE

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Steven C. Ricke, director of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture Center for Food Safety, will be one of the featured speakers at the International Production and Processing Expo on Jan. 29 in Atlanta. Ricke, who also holds the Donald "Buddy" Wray Endowed Chair in Food Safety, will speak on developing research and interventions for Salmonella control. He will discuss development of new control measures, tests and equipment.

“I am excited to participate in these types of forums as it is a chance to highlight the practical nature of the research we are doing here at the Center for Food Safety and how these types of projects can help solve real world problems in the industry,” Ricke said. “Furthermore, the opportunity to directly interface with so many different industry participants at the same time and location gives us a chance to get a very comprehensive feel for both current and future needs of the food industry that we can use to help guide us on our research strategies.”

The expo is the world’s largest annual poultry, meat and feed industry event. It includes the world’s largest display of technology, equipment, supplies and services used in the production and processing of eggs, meat and poultry and those involved in feed manufacturing.
