Blake Chapman of IT Services has been appointed to GIAC advisory board.

Blake Chapman, IT Services security analyst, earned the Global Information Assurance Certification certified enterprise defender credential. Based on his internationally ranked test scores, Chapman was appointed to the GIAC Advisory Board.  

Recipients of the certified enterprise defender credential are security professionals who demonstrate expertise in computer enterprise security. The certication is awarded by the SANS Institute, a predominant research and education organization dedicated to training and certifying computer security professionals.

Chapman started working for the University of Arkansas in March 2013. Prior to working for the university, he was a telecommunications consultant and then worked for ARE-ON, the Arkansas Research and Education Optical Network, performing a wide range of tasks, from assisting in the building and maintenance of the network to developing authentication systems.

Chapman holds a Bachelor of Science in telecommunication technology with a minor in business administration and urban planning from Texas A&M University. He was also certified as a registered communications distribution designer, issued by Building Industry Consulting Service International.
