Former University Recreation Student Employee Releases Series of Workout Videos
Monique St. Pierre, former kinesiology major at the University of Arkansas and group fitness instructor at University Recreation, has released the first of four “Circuit Burnout” workout videos. Pierre began her career in fitness her freshman year attending the University of Arkansas teaching UREC group fitness classes like body sculpt, Zumba, booty ballet, hip-hop, and more.
“I initially was a theatre major,” said Pierre. “However, I quickly realized that the health and fitness industry was where I belonged.”
Pierre’s blog, beautyandthebeastfit.tumblr.com, was discovered by a producer from X-Train Fit, an at home fitness training program that is geared toward an extreme, high intensity, total body conditioning workout that features cardio, circuit training, resistance training, yoga, and stretching. Pierre began filming the workout series in early 2013.
“I have been listening to my audience to shape the nature of the Circuit Burnout workouts”, said Pierre. “No equipment is necessary and each workout is modified for varying fitness levels.”
The first film of the Circuit Burnout series was released for purchase in the fall of 2013 on the X-Train Fit website, xtrainfit.com, and Amazon.com.
Pierre, in addition to filming the Circuit Burnout series, is working toward a license in physical therapy at the University of Central Arkansas, while also finding time to fly to and from Florida to be with her fiancé.
“I feel very thankful and blessed for all that is happening in my life,” she said. “I have an amazing and supportive group of friends, clients and family, who have helped me create all of this.”
“As one of the largest student employers on campus, we have a vast pool of talented students who go on to accomplish amazing things after graduation,” said Jeremy Battjes, director of University Recreation. “It is always exciting to hear when one of our former employees realizes such success.”
“Teaching at UREC is a fond memory, and remains to be one of my favorite places I have ever taught,” said Pierre.
