Nine business students met with Tyson representatives at the Inn at Carnall Hall for dinner on Dec. 2. The students are all Tyson scholarship recipients and participants in the Tyson Mentoring Program, a partnership that the office of diversity and inclusion at the Sam M. Walton college of Business has with Tyson Foods Inc. Tyson scholarship recipients are selected based on academic performance and previous participation in the Business Leadership Academy program.

The dinner was an informal meeting to let the students build relationships with Tyson mentors and gain insight into successful career planning. During the dinner, students had the chance to ask Tyson representatives questions regarding classes, internships, and career opportunities. Furthermore, the event was a great networking opportunity for the students and allowed them to get to know the Tyson mentors.

"The dinner was an excellent way to get one-one-one experience with some of Tyson's top recruiters," said Rachel Mooreland, senior marketing major.  "I was able to get my questions answered and learn more about the culture of the company in a more personal setting. I am so grateful to be a part of BLA and to be able to participate in invaluable opportunities such as these."

This event was one of the last of the semester, and the Tyson Mentoring Program will continue holding events beginning Spring 2014.
