Last Week of Hogs United Campaign for United Way of Northwest Arkansas
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas campaign to support the United Way of Northwest Arkansas – Hogs United – is in its final week.
Contributions can be made until Nov. 30 through the Donate Now button on the Hogs United website: http://hogsunited.uark.edu.
“We hope that all the faculty and staff who have put off making a donation will act this week,” said Melissa Harwood-Rom, volunteer co-chair of the campaign. “Many people will be going out of town to visit family over the Thanksgiving holiday, so right now is a good time to go online and give to the United Way.”
So far 8 percent of faculty and staff members at the university have made donations that total more than $100,000. The campaign goal is $150,000 and 15 percent participation.
“We’ve said it before, and we mean it: no contribution is too small. Every contribution makes a difference,” said Kathy Deck, the other volunteer co-chair. “We want as many people to participate in this campaign as possible. It only takes a minute or two to go through the secure online process, and there are many options for how to make a donation. The important thing is to support the people who are in need right here in Northwest Arkansas.”
The United Way of Northwest Arkansas helps fund 67 agencies that provide education, health, income and safety net services. 99 percent of all donations stay in Northwest Arkansas.
