Global Campus Offers a Career-Building Workshop for Human Resource Professionals in December

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Global Campus professional development network will offer a workshop in December to prepare human resource professionals to become organizational strategic business partners.

“This class is designed to provide the knowledge and skills that professionals need to earn a seat at the executive table,” said Judith Tavano, director of the professional development network at Global Campus facility in Rogers.

 “How to Be a Human Resource Strategic Business Partner: an Overview of Strategic HR Leadership” will be offered from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10. Participants can attend the face-to-face class at the Global Campus facility in Rogers or online via Blackboard Collaborate. The cost is $49. This class was approved for 1.5 business management and strategy recertification hours toward professional human resource, senior human resource and global professional resource recertification through the HR Certification Institute.

Cynthia Y. Thompson – principal and founder of a human resources consulting company in Memphis, The Thompson HR Firm LLC – is the instructor for this class. It is designed to help position participants as strategic business partners in organizations by increasing their business acumen. Participants will learn to identify the business skills needed to be an effective human resource business partner, recognize common budgeting methods used today, understand the tools used to measure an organization’s financial health, and create effective business cases for human resource initiatives.

Thompson is a senior human resources executive with more than 20 years of experience concentrated in publically traded companies. She is also the publisher and editor of HR Professionals Magazine.
