Science Café Nov. 19 to Focus on Myths

The topic of this month's University of Arkansas Science Café: Food for Thought is "Myths of Science."

A panel of four U of A professors will speak at the event that will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Powerhouse restaurant in Fayetteville. They are William McComas, Parks Family Professor of Science Education; Dan Kennefick, assistant professor of physics; Julie Stenken, professor of chemistry and Twenty-First Century Chair in Proteomics; and Barry Ward, associate professor of philosophy. They will discuss the nature of science and how myths and misconceptions regarding the philosophy of science affect science teaching and learning.

The event is free and open to the public. Food and drink will be available for purchase.
