Bumpers College Student Awarded American Society of Agronomy Scholarship
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Douglas C. Wolf, an environmental, soil and water science major in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences at the University of Arkansas, was awarded an American Society of Agronomy scholarship and a study abroad scholarship.
Wolf, an Honors College senior from Fayetteville, was awarded the "Cross-Cultural Experience Program Scholarship." He was not able to attend the ceremony in Tampa, Fla., on Nov. 3 due to his current studies at Lincoln University in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Wolf was able to study in New Zealand because of the Honors College Study Abroad Grant he was awarded during the summer.
"I have grown as a person and a professional academician because of it," said Wolf. "As cheesy as it sounds, the study abroad experience has been life changing."
Wolf is enrolled in four classes at Lincoln University- advanced soil science, plant science, environmental physics and introduction to the wine industry. All four courses included labs as well as projects such as a land tenure review, plant identification in the environment and two winery tour assessments.
Wolf plans to graduate in May and begin his graduate study directly after.
