Hogs United Aims to Reach Donation and Participation Goals
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – This year’s Hogs United campaign has two goals: to raise $150,000 for the United Way of Northwest Arkansas, and to beat last year’s 11 percent participation rate among faculty and staff.
So far more than $67,000 has been raised, with participation at only 4 percent. The campaign deadline is Nov. 30.
“The success of the University of Arkansas is intimately tied to the success of the Northwest Arkansas community,” said Kathy Deck, Hogs United co-chair. “It is easy for those of us on campus to step up our participation in the Hogs United campaign and provide hope to our neighbors. We can do better.”
To make an online contribution to Hogs United go to https://hogsunited.uark.edu/ and click on the red Donate Now box on the right. It will take you to an individual sign in to a personal Live United donation page. A U of A user name and password gives you access to a choice of options for giving – from “Bill me” to three ways to make a payroll deduction.
“If all the people who contributed last year contribute again this year at the same level we will meet, even beat our dollar goal,” said Melissa Harwood-Rom, Hogs United co-chair. “People who contributed through payroll deduction last year need to remember to renew their donations for this year, but that’s easy enough. Our real challenge is to get more people to make a donation – no matter how much – so we can have more people participating than last year. If we do that we will meet both of our goals.”
