Professionals to Explore HR Impact of Supreme Court Decision on Defense of Marriage Act
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Global Campus professional development network and CK Harp & Associates LLC will offer a class to equip human resource, hiring and benefits professionals with the strategic information needed to align practices with the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling on the Defense of Marriage Act.
The class will be offered from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, both online as well as face to face at the Global Campus facility in Rogers, Suite 402, in the Pinnacle One Building, 3300 Market St. The cost is $49.

“The Demise of DOMA and its Strategic Impact on Organizations” is designed to help professionals better manage employee benefits programs while still achieving organizational strategic goals and objectives. Participants will be able to understand how the ruling affects individuals and organizations, recognize potential impacts on the organization and its departments, and employ strategies to ensure that, as the organization grows, it is structured correctly to comply with the ruling.
Cammie Scott, president of CK Harp & Associates, is the instructor. She is a senior professional in human resources and has credentials as a life underwriter training council fellow, registered health underwriter, and registered employee benefit consultant. She also holds certification in long-term care.
Scott earned a master’s degree in industrial engineering and teaches a number of classes for the University of Arkansas Global Campus, including the Society for Human Resource Management Learning System risk-management module.
This program has been approved for 2.0 general recertification hours toward professional in human resources, senior professional in human resources, and global professional in human resources recertification through the HR Certification Institute.
