Arkansas Power Electronics International Inc., an affiliated company of the University of Arkansas at the Arkansas Research and Technology Park, is holding a sock drive to benefit the Seven Hills Homeless Shelter in Fayetteville.

The goal of Knock Our Socks on Socktober Drive is to eradicate cold toes this winter by collecting socks during the month of October. APEI has partnered with five local organizations to create a number of accessible donation sites across Fayetteville, including the departments in the College of Engineering on campus and also at the Arkansas Research and Technology Park in south Fayetteville.

For every sock donated, APEI has pledged to match with a sock-for-sock donation, up to $5,000.

Seven Hills Homeless Center offers a number of necessary daytime services to homeless individuals in Fayetteville, including showers, shelter, laundry, meals, and basic necessity distribution; in addition, Seven Hills has expanded to offer a transitional housing program and an extremely innovative homeless prevention program.
