Science Cafe to Present 'State of Education in Arkansas'

CCSS, NGSS, PARCC, EiEiO? If you are confused about what's going on in the state and national education community, join this panel of K-20 educators and Fayetteville's "town and gown" community at the University of Arkansas Science Café: Food For Thought.

"The State of Education in Arkansas" is the topic for the event from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Powerhouse restaurant in Fayetteville.

Panel members will be Chris Goering, associate professor of English education in the College of Education and Health Professions, University of Arkansas; Courtney Jones, principal of Lincoln High School; Melissa Miller, sixth-grade science and social studies teacher at Farmington; and Marcia Sanders, assistant director and teacher center coordinator at the Northwest Arkansas Education Service Cooperative in Farmington.

The event is open to the public and free of charge. Food and drink will be available for purchase.
