2013 edition of Discovery

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Eleven research articles and an interdisciplinary team's creative project comprise the recently released 2013 edition of Discovery, an undergraduate student research journal of the University of Arkansas Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences.

The journal is an annual publication in which students, under the guidance of faculty mentors, convert the results of their research and other original projects into an article. Students who have received a Bumpers College undergraduate research grant are expected to submit a paper based on their project.

Printed copies of Discovery will be available later this fall. An online PDF of the journal can be downloaded at arkansasagnews.uark.edu/discovery2013.pdf.

"The journal is an enhanced-learning experience as it encourages our students to engage beyond the classroom, offers an outlet to share results and findings in a citable publication and provides a service to society," said Michael Vayda, dean of Bumpers College.

Mary Savin, professor of crop, soil and environmental sciences, is faculty editor of Discovery. Gail Halleck, a publications editor in the agricultural communication services unit, is the journal's managing editor.

Information about submitting manuscripts for the 2014 edition is at arkansasagnews.uark.edu.
