The Full Circle Campus Food Pantry is now accepting applications for students to serve as volunteers for the fall 2013 semester. The volunteer application is available online and the deadline to apply is Thursday, Aug. 29, by noon.

The Full Circle Campus Food Pantry is a student-run assistance program that distributes food and personal products to all members of the University of Arkansas community. Since opening in 2011, the Pantry constantly strives to maintain a compassionate and dignified environment that makes basic necessities available to the University of Arkansas community.

The Full Circle Campus Food Pantry will be open to serve the campus community 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays. Student volunteers are needed to work a consistent two-hour shift in the pantry once a week for the entire semester. Volunteers are responsible for greeting pantry clients, filling orders, receiving donations, and stocking shelves.

Caroline Daniel, a senior who has served as Full Circle's Volunteer Coordinator for the last two years, is committed to selecting the best volunteers for the pantry, "Our volunteers have always had a great reputation of keeping a person's experience at the pantry friendly and dignified. We look for hard working students that are willing to make the weekly shift a priority."

Selections will be based on application and availability. Volunteers will be notified of their selection status on Friday afternoon, Aug. 30, and the first shifts will begin on Thursday, Sept. 5. All volunteers must attend a mandatory orientation for volunteer training. The orientation will be held at the pantry at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4. The application and orientation are both required even if the applicant has previously volunteered at the pantry.

Completed applications can be emailed directed to Caroline Daniel at pantry@uark.edu or can be delivered to the Center for Community Engagement Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The Center for Community Engagement is located in the Arkansas Union room A643. Late applications will not be accepted.

Full Circle will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2, in observance of Labor Day. To request assistance online or learn more about Full Circle, please visit our website at service.uark.edu
