The Associated Student Government and the Office of New Student & Family Programs are proud to sponsor the Family of the Year. The Family of the Year embodies the model Razorback family, exemplifies the Arkansas spirit and provides ideal support  for the student's success at the university.

The application for Family of the Year is now open. Students interested in nominating their families can fill out and submit their applications online at asgforms.uark.edu. Applications must be submitted by Tuesday, Sept. 3. It's never too early to submit your application!

"For many students, myself included, attending the University of Arkansas is a family affair," said Ellie Keffler, ASG vice president. She continued, "Some students inherited a Razorback allegiance and others introduced their family to the U of A; but, no matter the case, we know their families understand what this campus has to offer. Teaming up with New Student & Family Programs for the Family of the Year Award allows ASG, as a representative body, to demonstrate every student's appreciation for the people that make attending school here possible. The Family of the Year allows the whole family to experience the excitement of being part of the University of Arkansas."

The Family of the Year will receive four tickets to the Chancellor's Box for the Arkansas Razorback football game versus Southern Mississippi on Saturday, Sept. 14, and will be honored at the game. The family will also receive hotel accommodations for the weekend as well as the PorkChop Package that includes Sunday Brunch, Friday Night Live, Tailgate Brunch, Razorback gear and much more.

"We are really excited about partnering with the Associated Student Government for the Family of the Year Award, " said Alison Leach, assistant director of New Student & Family Programs. "This award truly is an honor, as students are making nominations based off of their parents' support throughout their college experience. The Family of the Year Award is just one way students and the University of Arkansas can say thanks to those truly outstanding family members.

The 17th University of Arkansas Family of the Year will be announced Friday, Sept. 6.  Please see asg.uark.edu, nsfp.uark.edu, Facebook, or follow ASG on Twitter for the announcement.
