Greenland ABC Preschool Accepting Applications

Great news! The Greenland School District has been funded for 40 preschool children, ages 3 and 4 through the ABC Expansion Program, which is a federally funded program. There are currently 20 spots left and the program is free to children who qualify for the services, including those of full-time students at the university. Those interested in having their children attend this program must meet both of the following guidelines:

  • Income qualifications
  • One parent must work 30 hours per week or be a full-time student (12 hours per semester).

The ABC Program will begin on Monday, Aug. 19, and end on May 23, 2014. The hours are 7:45 a.m. -3 p.m. for the ABC Program and then an After-School Program from 3 – 6 p.m. is available for a fee. The program runs on the Greenland School calendar. The program also includes free breakfast, lunch and snack for all children in attendance.

Interested parents may pick up an application at the Greenland Administration Building. Make sure to bring copies of income qualification, proof of work and/or school and the child's birth certificate. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon on Friday, during the summer. Please contact Greenland's ABC Program at 479-521-2366, ext. 221, if you have questions or to pick up an application.
