New UAPD Officer Sworn In

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Officer Sor Lee was sworn in as a member of the University of Arkansas Police Department during a brief ceremony Wednesday, July 17 at UAPD headquarters.

Officer Lee was hired May 19, and is currently completing the campus field training program.  He was born in Thailand. He attended the Minnesota School of Business, graduating with an associate’s degree in business administration in 2004. That same year he moved to Northwest Arkansas to be with his family and became a real estate agent. In 2006 he started his law enforcement career by joining the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. He worked first as a jailer and became a field deputy in 2008. He was named Deputy of the Year by the Office of Emergency Communication in Benton County in 2011, and the following year was chosen as Deputy of the Year by Benton County Sheriff’s Office.

Officer Lee joined the UAPD for the opportunity to work and study at the U of A.
