Staff Senate is pleased to announce the following Employees of the Third Quarter. Congratulations and thank you for all you do for the University of Arkansas!

Lyn Edington, Professional/Non-faculty: Administrative. Edington is the nurse manager in the Pat Walker Health Center and has worked at the U of A since July 1994. She was nominated by A.J. Olsen, a registered nurse at the health center, who says: "I'm always impressed with her knowledge and abilities. I don't even think many of her co-workers realize the scope of her responsibilities, which include coordinating campus-wide TB testing and reporting, serving as liaison between healthcare providers and the U of A, being a determined nurse advocate, student and patient advocate, educator, and extremely hard worker."

Deb Williams, Professional/Non-Faculty: Academic. Williams has worked for the U of A since August of 2006 and was nominated by Rebel Smith. Williams works with students from admission through graduation and the student traffic in her office is often non-stop. In her nomination letter Rebel says: "Students are always first for Deb and she goes above and beyond to help them each and every day." She goes on to say that "Deb's colleagues love working with her because she listens carefully, puts others first and is always ready to roll up her sleeves and get to work on whatever project is at hand."

Clarinda Carr, Secretarial/Clerical. Carr has been an employee of the UA since 1979 and is the administrative support supervisor and administrative assistant to the head football coach. Mary Lynn Gibson nominated Carr noting that she has worked for seven head football coaches over the course of her career and saying: "Her knowledge of daily obligations, personnel in the department, managing his schedule and travel, and her people management skills have made every new coach's job an easy transition." Mary Lynn goes on to say that "she is a true ambassador for the head football coach, athletic department, and the University of Arkansas."

David Gibson, Technical/Paraprofessional. Gibson was nominated by Jeremy Dickerson, assistant dean of admissions, who notes that Gibson began his career at the U of A in 1996 as a computer support specialist and has had several promotions over the years and now serves as the assistant director of admissions. In his letter of nomination, Jeremy says: "David oversees the day-to-day operations of the department's IT infrastructure and is responsible for supporting more than 70 staff members, maintaining 150 pieces of hardware, deploying countless specialized software solutions, and responding to more than 100 data requests per year. Throughout it all David maintains a positive disposition, often volunteering his time and that of his team's to help other units in the department."

Eddie Flores, Skilled Crafts/Service/Maintenance. Flores is a skilled tradesman in the U of A's Housing Office and he was nominated by Aaron England. Flores has worked at the University of Arkansas since 2004 and is, by all accounts, an outstanding carpenter and wonderful co-worker. Of particular interest are the Greek columns he built from scratch for the Greek Life Office. In his nomination letter Aaron notes: "He spent many hours and did very precise work to make the columns from scratch. Eddie is a great carpenter and does an outstanding job for Residential Facilities."

Today is the last day for nominations for Employee of the Fourth Quarter. If you know someone who has also shown exemplary work and a dedication the University of Arkansas, don't hesitate and nominate them today.
