Students and Faculty Honored at Association for Agricultural Education National Meeting

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Graduate students and faculty members in the Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences at the University of Arkansas were recently recognized for outstanding work at the American Association for Agricultural Education national meeting.

The meeting was held May 21-24 in Columbus, Ohio.

The students and faculty were representing the agricultural and extension education program.

Graduate student Brittany Dees and assistant professor Kate Shoulders earned distinguished poster honors in the research category, and graduate student Morgan Large and professor Jeff Miller received distinguished poster honors in the innovative section.

The top three posters in each category earn designation as being distinguished.

In addition, professor Donna Graham was named president-elect of the Association for Agricultural Education and professor Don Johnson was named Senior Fellow for the organization.

Graham teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in agricultural and extension education and in the Bumpers College honors program. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Arkansas, and her doctorate from the University of Maryland. She has taught at the U of A since 1985.

Johnson coordinates the agricultural systems and technology management program in Bumpers College. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Western Kentucky University and his doctorate from the University of Missouri.
