Library Systems Unavailable May 7

Due to a system upgrade, the library catalog and associated services will be offline between approximately 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 7.

During that time, the library catalog, remote access to library databases, Find it!, Index Arkansas, and the ILLiad interlibrary loan system will be unavailable intermittently.

Mullins Library will be open 24 hours that day. Laptops, books, and other materials will be available for checkout.  Librarians will be available to help users locate materials using the WorldCat database when the local catalog is offline.

Unfortunately, the Libraries had few options when it came to installing the new operating system. The original date was April 2, which fell in the middle of the semester. Although it seems counterintuitive, more library users would have been impacted on April 2. The administration reviewed statistics, and database use numbers go down during finals even though more people are using the physical library space.

If you have any specific questions about the upgrade, please feel free to contact Judy Ganson, the director for Collection Management Services and Systems, or Beth Juhl, the head of Web Services.

The Libraries apologize for this unavoidable disruption in service during the final exam period. Thank you for your patience.
