FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Press has published Thomas Hauser on Sports: Remembering the Journey ($24.95, paper), a collection of essays by sports writer Thomas Hauser. Best known as Muhammad Ali’s biographer and for his recording of the contemporary boxing scene, in this latest volume Hauser brings together his articles on sports in general.

The book begins in the days of Hauser’s youth in the 1960s and follows the world of sports into the era of steroids and multi-billion-dollar television contracts. It combines personal memories with issue-oriented commentary and an intimate look at some of the most remarkable athletes of modern times.

Booklist has called Hauser “the most respected boxing journalist working today and perhaps the best ever,” and sports writer Jerry Izenberg called Hauser “a rare writer who puts sports in the context of American Life.” Hauser on Sports is the author’s 10th book published by the University of Arkansas Press.

Thomas Hauser is the author of many books, including Muhammad Ali: His Life and Times. In 2004, the Boxing Writers Association of America honored him with the Nat Fleischer Award for Career Excellence in Boxing Journalism.
