Quarterly Business Analysis Luncheon Set for June

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Kathy Deck, director of the Center for Business and Economic Research, will present her regular Quarterly Business Analysis as a luncheon event next month. Deck’s popular sessions feature business highlights of the previous quarter, key economic trends and projections as well as immediate and long-term issues facing the regional and state economy. They have been held as breakfast meetings in the past, but the last two sessions were held at lunchtime and a much larger number of local business leaders were able to attend.

The event will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, at the Shewmaker Center for Workforce Technologies on the NorthWest Arkansas Community College campus at 1100 S.E. Eagle Way, Bentonville. The Quarterly Business Analysis luncheon is a partnership between the Center for Business and Economic Research in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas and the Northwest Arkansas Chambers of Commerce

“This luncheon event will provide an opportunity to update local business and community leaders on the economy’s progress in 2013. The data from late 2012 and early 2013 have been quite strong for Northwest Arkansas, so this is a good opportunity to consider the prospects for the rest of the year,” Deck said.

The purpose of the Quarterly Business Analysis program is to build networks of leaders from business, academic and governmental sectors in the region. The goal is solid and sustainable economic development in Arkansas. “The Quarterly Business Analysis program is designed to help our community leaders make better informed decisions,” Deck said.

The program will last for approximately 60 minutes, including time for a question and answer session. The cost for the Quarterly Business Analysis program and luncheon is $40. Preregistration by Monday, June 3, is required. Reservations can be made online for the luncheon at http://cber.uark.edu/ or by calling 479-575-4151.
