Walton College Students Receive Academic Credit for Relevant Work Experience

Cooperative Education (Co-op) is an optional, academic program that enables business majors to receive upper-level business elective credit for working at a job or internship that pertains to their field of study. Applications are currently being accepted for summer 2013 Co-op credit. For more information, please visit the Walton College Co-op website or contact Sara Yell at yell@uark.edu.

Each year approximately 200 students receive Cooperative Education credit for a variety of experiences. In an effort to establish relationships with some of these organizations and better understand business students’ working environments, the George W. Edwards Jr. Career Development Center staff conducts Co-op company visits each semester. A few Co-op students are selected at random, and Career Center staff members meet with the students and their supervisors to learn more about the organization and the students’ experiences.

This semester, visits were made to Collective Bias and Transplace. For more information about these organizations, please visit their websites: http://collectivebias.com/ and http://www.transplace.com.
