Acampora to Speak on Long-Term Investing

The New York Institute of Finance’s director of technical analysis studies will speak April 25 to students and faculty at the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas.

Ralph Acampora, who also heads technical research at Altaira LTD, will speak in Willard J. Walker Hall room 331 at 3:30 p.m. Acampora’s talk will be related to long-term investing using technical analysis. The session is open to students and faculty.

The talk is sponsored by the Garrison Financial Institute, the Finance Department at the Walton College and the CFA Society of Arkansas and is hosted by the Garrison Financial Institute.

Acampora has been a pioneer of technical analysis for over 40 years and has taught at the New York Institute of Finance for 37 years. Acampora is one of Wall Street’s most respected technical analysts and has been consistently ranked by Institutional Investor for more than 10 years. He is a Chartered Market Technician, a designation he helped create and which is now recognized by the National Association of Securities Dealers as the equivalent of a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Acampora, instrumental in developing modern-day technical analysis, co-founded the Market Technicians Association in 1970, is a past president of that group and continues to be an active member. Acampora is a trustee on the Board of the Security Industry Institute and is currently involved in the establishment of the Securities Traders Association University.
