University Perspectives: Destination Graduation

In the fall 2013 semester, the University of Arkansas will launch an innovative new course for incoming freshmen intended to enhance student success. University Perspectives, a one-hour course, will emphasize the transition to the university and university-level work, including critical learning and civic engagement.

Using a unique curriculum and an online component, instructors and graduate assistants will collaborate to provide these freshmen with a valuable first-year learning experience. Instructors for this course will be titled “Provost Lecturer” and will be selected from a wide variety of faculty and expertise. Workshops will be held to talk about the curriculum for this class, and anyone teaching will be expected to participate in the workshop.

If you are interested in teaching a section in the inaugural year of this initiative, you can find a link to the application on the provost's website. Please complete the application by Tuesday, March 12, and submit to rdibrezz@uark.edu.
