Tyler Priest Selected as Student Leader of the Month for February
Junior Tyler Priest has been selected as the Student Leader of the Month for February. Originally from Morrilton, Arkansas, Tyler came to the University of Arkansas to major in international relations, European studies, and political science.
Tyler currently serves as the Associated Student Government chief of staff, National Residence Hall honorary vice president, Distinguished Lectures Committee co-chair, Program Allocations Board student-at-large, Alpha Phi Omega sergeant-at-arms, as well as a member of various university committees.
When asked which qualities and characteristics a leader should possess, Tyler said, “Leaders should above all else display integrity and selflessness.” Tyler encourages students to get involved in various organizations and reminds his peers of a selfless notion, that “getting involved is not about you; it’s about the people you are serving or representing.”
The Student Leader of the Month award, sponsored by New Student & Family Programs, recognizes University of Arkansas undergraduate students for their excellence in leadership through campus involvement, leadership activities, or through volunteer and community service.
