Microsoft and Apple report that some iOS 6.1 (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) users have experienced issues using Exchange calendar after responding to an exception to a recurring event. When this problem occurs, the user will notice a sudden decrease in battery life.
The recent iOS 6.1.1 update does not address this issue, but a new bug fix will be released in an upcoming update from Apple. In the meantime, users experiencing this problem can disable and re-enable the Exchange calendar on an iOS device by following these instructions:
- Tap Settings. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
- Select the Exchange account from your Accounts list.
- Switch Calendars to OFF.
- You will be warned that your calendar will be deleted. Tap Delete from My iPhone. Your calendar events will be cleared.
Note: Continue on to steps 5 and 6 to ensure that your Exchange calendar events will be restored to your device. - Wait several seconds before switching Calendars to ON.
- Open the Calendar app and tap Calendars in the top left corner. Verify that your Exchange calendar is listed with a check mark. Tap the Exchange calendar if there is no check mark.
