Author to Speak on Supply Chain Management

The co-author of Bricks Matter, a new book for supply chain management executives, will speak March 28 to students and faculty at the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas.

Lora Cecere, the co-author of Bricks Matter, will speak in Willard J. Walker Hall room 218 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The session is open to students, faculty, staff and the public.  Cecere also will sign copies of her book.

Cecere is founder and chief executive officer of Supply Chain Insights, a leading firm in supply chain strategy and research.  She also writes the blog Supply Chain Shaman, which focuses on the use of enterprise applications to drive supply chain excellence. As an enterprise strategist, Cecere focuses on the changing face of enterprise technologies.

Bricks Matter includes business cases illustrating the market-driven approach and illustrates how businesses can identify market risks and translate them into supply-side tactics.

With more than 30 years of supply chain experience, Cecere spent nine years as an industry analyst with Gartner Group, AMR Research and Altimeter Group. Prior to becoming a supply chain analyst, she spent 15 years as a leader in the building of supply chain software at Manugistics and Descartes Systems Group. She also spent several years as a supply chain practitioner at Procter & Gamble, Kraft/General Foods and Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream.
