Global Campus Coordinator Earns Program Planner Certification From National Organization

Debra Clouten, operations coordinator for professional development programs at the Global Campus, completed an online program and earned designation as a certified program planner from the Learning Resources Network, a national training and consulting organization for lifelong learning programs.

“I am enormously proud of Debra’s accomplishment,” said Judith Tavano, director of professional development programs. “She not only achieved the designation by passing the exam, but she did it via distance technology, setting a standard for all of us.”

Clouten studied online for 12 weeks before passing the certification exam. Her training covered program planning from development through implementation and evaluation, including the study of continuing education models, financial tracking, marketing and promotions.

The Global Campus is a member of the network, commonly referred to as LERN, which provides training, information and consulting expertise. LERN serves a wide variety of institutions, including public universities, four-year colleges, colleges within universities, private colleges, community colleges, technical colleges, public schools, recreation departments and associations.

Clouten serves the professional development programs area at the Global Campus by ensuring all aspects of program delivery.

The Global Campus collaborates with academic colleges and schools, businesses and organizations to provide development classes for business professionals. The Global Campus also supports the design and development of online academic credit courses and degree programs provided by the University of Arkansas colleges and schools.
