Ellen Rudolph Selected as January's Student Leader of the Month
Sophomore Ellen Rudolph has been selected as the Student Leader of the Month for January. Originally from Overland Park, Kan., Rudolph came to the University of Arkansas to major in economics.
Rudolph is involved with several on-campus organizations and initiatives, including Pat Walker Health Promotion, Associated Student Government, Greeks Going Green, and Chi Omega Sorority.
When asked why she got involved with these organizations, Rudolph responded, “I got involved with these organizations because they make big differences on campus in respect to the happiness of the student body and the quality of the school. I believe that my experience at the U of A would not be complete if I did not immerse myself completely in the atmosphere of student leaders who work hard to evolve the university. There is a special caliber of learning that takes place both on campus and outside of the classroom.”
Further commenting on student leaders, Ellen added that “the most valued of leaders are those who are honest, passionate and open-minded. Honesty keeps one humble and realistic. Passion is necessary to overcome obstacles and to endure until goals are met, and an open mind keeps you listening, growing and learning.”
The Student Leader of the Month award, sponsored by New Student & Family Programs, recognizes University of Arkansas undergraduate students for their excellence in leadership through campus involvement, leadership activities, or through volunteer and community service.
