Lecture to Focus on Effects of Hydrating the Body
Erica Perrier, a hydration and physiology scientist with Danone Research, will speak about “Short- and Long-Term Implications of Healthy Hydration” at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, on the University of Arkansas campus.
Perrier, a former NCAA Division I athlete and certified strength and conditioning specialist, will speak in Room 166, the auditorium, of the Graduate Education Building. She has a background in human biology and exercise performance. The talk is part of the Human Performance Lab Lecture Series.
Perrier earned a master’s and doctorate in exercise and sport science from Oregon State University. She plays a key role in investigating the impact of fluid intake on hydration biomarkers and physiology.
Prior to joining Danone, Perrier was an adjunct professor at Clark College and the University of Western States, where she taught undergraduate and graduate-level courses in exercise science, performance enhancement and health. She has extensive experience as a clinical exercise physiologist, specializing in cardiovascular stress testing. She has co-authored publications in the fields of hydration assessment, sports performance and sports nutrition.
