Chancellor's Commission on Women Hosts Panel Discussion About Family Leave
The Chancellor’s Commission on Women is hosting a panel discussion on Thursday, Nov. 29. “Family Leave at the University of Arkansas: Past, Present, & Future” is the topic for the forum that begins at noon in the Arkansas Union. This is a brown-bag luncheon event with drinks provided by the commission.
Chancellor G. David Gearhart will deliver the welcome with opening remarks by commission Chair Amy Farmer, professor of economics and holder of the Margaret Gerig and R.S. Martin Jr. Endowed Chair in Business.
The panel discussion on family leave will be from noon to 1 p.m. in Rooms 512-514 of the Arkansas Union. Moderated by Chris Pohl, associate athletic director, the panel includes:
- Barbara Abercrombie, associate vice chancellor of human resources
- Leah Williams, compensation programs administrator for human resources
- Janine Parry, professor of political science and Campus Faculty chair
- Kelly Marie Carter, fellowship financial manager for the Honors College
Appointed by the chancellor in 2010, the Commission on Women has a primary mission to be an advocate for the interest of the entire community of women at the University of Arkansas; including undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, administrators, and both classified and non-classified staff. The commission comprises appointed members from all members of the University of Arkansas community.
