Katie Waldrip, a senior in the Dale Bumpers College of Agriculture, Food and Life Sciences, was crowed Homecoming Queen 2012 in halftime festivities on November 3, 2012. Waldrip was sponsored by the Hospitality Club and is a senior majoring in dietetics and hospitality management with a minor in agricultural business.

With a total of 4,055 votes cast in the 2012 Homecoming Queen elections, Waldrip was crowned queen of a court that also included the following women:

  • Caitlin Lamb, Senior - economics and political science, Arkansas Booster Club and Sigma Alpha Epsilon
  • Kelly Lamb, Senior - economics and political Science, Chi Omega
  • Sophie LeBlanc, Senior - supply chain management, Delta Delta Delta
  • Kristen Zachary, Senior - marketing and communication, Beta Gamma Sigma

In her application for Court, Waldrip spoke of her pride in being a Razorback: “With tradition comes pride, and I could not be more proud to be an Arkansas Razorback! I have visited other college campuses, including those in the SEC, and the difference between their traditions and passion for their school is nowhere near comparable to what I have known since I was four years old - the University of Arkansas. Being born into the Razorback Nation, I would never want to be anywhere else, and I look forward to the day that I can show my children my name on the Senior Walk.”

Waldrip's campus activities include the Razorback Diamond Dolls, Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, College Republicans, R.E.A.L. Razorbacks and Hot Pink Ribbon.
