FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University Theatre presents Blithe Spirit by Noel Coward, Nov. 9-18. Mavourneen Dwyer, associate professor of drama in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, directs a cast of undergraduate and master of fine arts students in the production of this comic play that has been entertaining audiences for more than 70 years.

Set in 1941 England, Charles Condomine faces a dilemma when he invites Madame Arcati over to perform a séance. Charles hopes to expose her as a fraud, but much to his surprise and chagrin, the madame successfully conjures the ghost of his first wife, Elvira. The sarcastic and unwelcome Elivira sends Charles’ life into chaos, putting increasing stress on Charles’ current marriage to the already anxious Ruth.

Additional production credits include: Scenic design by Michael Riha; costume design by Patricia Martin; lighting design by Lydia Winklemann; and technical direction by Patrick Stone.

Ticket prices are $16 for adults, $14 for faculty, staff and seniors, and $7 for children.
