Employee Health and Benefits Fair on Nov. 8

Don’t forget to attend the University’s Employee Health & Benefits Fair on Thursday, Nov. 8, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Health & Benefits Fair will be held in the Arkansas Union Ballroom and Connections Lounge.

This year over 75 vendors will be in attendance at the Health Fair offering employees information on topics addressing economic, family, mental and physical health, and individual development.

Many free health screenings and assessments will be offered including biometric screenings, colon cancer screening kits, dental screenings, foot screenings, fitness assessments (BMI, body fat analysis), osteoporosis screenings, spinal and carpal tunnel screenings, flu shots and flu mist ($20 flu shot/$35 flu mist cost paid by QualChoice for QualChoice participants; non-QualChoice participants may pay the fee by cash or check at the fair), blood pressure readings, vision screenings, and more!

This year biometric screenings will only be offered to employees and spouses on the university’s health plan who make an appointment and present their QualChoice ID card. Biometric screenings with OnLife include cholesterol, HDL, LDL, glucose, BMI, and waist circumference. Fasting 8 hours prior is recommended but not required. These screenings must be scheduled in advance and will satisfy one of the requirements to receive a $25 gift card and get onboard the university’s new wellness program administered by OnLife.

Instructions on how to schedule the screenings were mailed to all benefits eligible employees and can also be found at the Human Resources website. The biometric screenings through OnLife will also be offered in December and January. If you want to take advantage of the screening times during the Health Fair, then make sure to sign-up now for a screening time on Nov. 8.

At the fair, be sure to pick up a scavenger hunt form at the Human Resource information desk, complete the form by visiting the vendors indicated on the list, and turn it back in to the HR information desk so you can be entered into a drawing to receive a door prize. Door prizes vary from gift cards to iPods to exercise accessories and equipment. The Human Resources information desk is the first desk on the right as you walk into the Union Ballroom from the Connections Lounge.
