Be a Flu Fighter and Protect Yourself Against the Flu

The Pat Walker Health Center is again making flu shots conveniently available and affordable this year for students, spouses of students, faculty, staff, and their spouses. Walk-in Flu Clinics are Monday to Thursday from 8 to 9 a.m. and Monday to Friday from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Pat Walker Health Center Immunization Clinic. No appointment is necessary, just walk in and get your flu shot.

Cost for students who have paid the health fee is $10 for a flu shot and $25 for the Flu Mist (needle-less, nasal spray immunization). The cost for all other eligible individuals is $20 for a flu shot and $35 for Flu Mist. Students, spouses of students, faculty, staff and their spouses are eligible. The Pat Walker Health Center is a health facility for adults only, thus no children are able to be seen. It is encouraged that students, staff, and faculty consult with their pediatrician or family physician to acquire flu shots for children.

Invest in yourself and be immunized against the flu. In addition to the flu shot,  some everyday easy steps will also help you prevent from getting the flu. Sneeze or cough into a tissue or your sleeve, stay away from others who are not feeling well or who have not been fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications, eat a well balanced diet, get plenty of rest and sleep, exercise on a regular basis, and wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use hand sanitizer when soap and water are unavailable.
