Ambassador from U.S. Representative Office to Meet With Bumpers College Students

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Ambassador Islam A. Siddiqui, the chief agricultural negotiator at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, will discuss international trade policy and meet with students from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, in rooms 510-511 of the Arkansas Union. Refreshments will be available at 9 a.m. The event is sponsored by the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences and the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture.

The discussion will be moderated by students from the Bumpers College Honors Program and Bumpers College Ambassadors. 

Siddiqui is responsible for bilateral and multilateral negotiations and policy coordination regarding agricultural trade. He most recently served as vice president for science and regulatory affairs at CropLife America, where he was responsible for regulatory and international trade issues related to crop protection chemicals. He has also served as vice president for agricultural biotechnology and trade at CropLife America.
