The Caribbean Students Association invites you to their second annual Carnival Parade on Saturday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m.

Carnival is a tradition that was initially started by the newly freed African slaves who had settled into the islands of the Caribbean to celebrate their freedom. Carnival today has blossomed into an immense parade throughout the streets. A festival of colors, costumes, Mas (short for masquerade), calypso, steel band music, dance and an array of different ethnic food and Caribbean art.

The Caribbean Students Association invites you to create your own costume, represent your culture and jump and palance with the organization throughout the streets of Fayetteville. Parade participants will meet in the front of the Arkansas Union at 2 p.m. and then start the parade from there. Following they will have a reception at the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Building, Room 220, at 4 p.m. with free food and drinks along with more music and dancing.
