Kyle Cook Joins College of Engineering as Facilities Manager

Dean Terry Martin and the College of Engineering are pleased to welcome Kyle Cook as the new College of Engineering facilities manager. He will start this new position on Oct. 1.

As facilities manager, Cook will be responsible for managing seven College of Engineering research and academic buildings and associated grounds. His duties include serving as a liaison between building occupants, the department of facilities management and contractors while supervising building projects; managing security systems and safety; overseeing building inspection and  engineering facility budgets and supervising support staff.

“We are all very excited to welcome Kyle to the College of Engineering family,” said Shannon Davis, assistant dean of research. “He is a highly qualified person and will bring a wealth of experience and skills to the college."

Cook has been involved with the university his whole life. His father, Don L. Cook, was a faculty member in the Sam M. Walton College of Business, and Cook received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas in 1993. He began his facilities career by running his own construction and remodeling company for 10 years. After that, he worked for several local construction companies in Northwest Arkansas from 2004 to 2010.  He joined the University of Arkansas in 2010 as a construction coordinator working for facilities management.

Cook is also involved in his community, serving on the Fayetteville city council for eight years. His wife, Jennifer Cook, works for the Arkansas Democrat Gazette.
