Art Night Out/Journey Into the Wild

Journey into the Wild and enjoy of the rhythms of art and nature on Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art's picturesque South Lawn from 7-10 p.m. Thursday, June 28.

Listen to live folk music outdoors on the South Lawn’s Art Trail featuring 3 Penny Acre, Still on A Hill, and Mark Bilyeu of Big Smith, and catch the roaming fiddle and banjo duo of Fork and Knife. (Special thanks to the Fayetteville Roots Festival for organizing the music program.)

Watch short nature films made by local filmmakers with a special presentation by Seedling Film Association. Illuminate the beautiful landscape of Crystal Spring on a trail hike with flashlights, and learn about watercolor landscape painting with a live demo by artist Whitney Johnson. Explore the exhibition The Hudson River School: Nature and the American Vision through a unique writing project led by Chris Wong and Corrie Williamson of the University of Arkansas Program in Creative Writing. Wong and Williamson will lead explorations of the landscape in literature, from nineteenth-century Transcendentalist writers such as Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau, to contemporary writers today.

Tickets: $20 for non-Members | $15 for Members. Tickets can be purchased online, by phone, or at Guest Services. Tickets include admission to the temporary exhibition, The Hudson River School: Nature and the American Vision. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and ticket admittance is located ONLY in main lobby of the museum. The Museum will be closed to all guests from 6 to 6:30 p.m. to prepare for this event.
