FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The fourth annual KUAF/Fulbright Summer Chamber Music Festival continues its season on Thursday, May 31, with the second of six programs. Program II features works by Wolf, Foote and Brahms. The free concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church’s Parish Hall. A reception will follow.

The Chamber Music Festival will feature guest artists as well as faculty from the University of Arkansas department of music in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences. Performances will include a variety of chamber music using diverse instrumental groups from many musical eras.

Program II will feature guest artist Molly Sharp on viola and include “Italian Serenade, for String Quartet,” by Hugo Wolf (1860-1903); “A Night Piece, for Flute and String Quartet” by Arthur Foote (1853-1937); “Quintet for Clarinet and Strings” by Johannes Brahms (1833-1897).

Sharp is the Principal Violist of the Richmond Symphony and has played with the Richmond Symphony since 1993. In addition to playing in Richmond, she has played with the Nashville Symphony, Glimmerglass Opera Orchestra, and the Cascade Music Festival in Bend, Oregon.  Her Chamber music studies have included summers at the Taos School of Music and the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival-Yale Summer School of Music. Sharp is a member of the Oberon String Quartet, which is in residence at St. Catherine’s School in Richmond. In addition to playing the viola, she also plays fiddle with the Trevillian Ramblers.

The Summer Chamber Music Festival concerts, held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday evenings through June 28. The concerts are all free and open to the public and each will be followed by a reception. Free parking is available.
