McIlroy Avenue Closing for Construction of Founders Hall

A section of the south portion of McIlroy Ave., from roughly the Brough Common loading area to the Yocum Hall entrance, is currently closed for preparatory construction work for a new residence hall. Founders Hall will be built to the south of Brough Common, with an estimated completion date of August, 2013. Only emergency and construction vehicles will be able to access the street.

Starting June 2, McIlroy Ave. will be closed from Dickson St. south to the Yocum Hall entrance. Again, only emergency and construction vehicles will be able to use the street. In addition to the construction of Founders Hall, facilities management crews will be upgrading the sidewalk along the west side of  McIlroy Ave. so it can be used as a part of Senior Walk.

The construction work will require removing parking spaces on McIlroy Ave. for people with disabilities. Efforts are underway to find alternate spaces to replace this parking.
