College Announces Winners of Honors Research Competition

The College of Education and Health Professions announces the winners of the inaugural COEHP Honors Student Research Symposium and Workshop held April 18 in the Graduate Education Building at the University of Arkansas.

The winners:

  • First place: Corrie R. Bailey, $300; major: kinesiology; presentation title: "Effects of Landing Strategy Intervention on Muscle Activation During Drop Landings"
  • Second place: Jessica M. Roy, $200; major: childhood education; presentation title: "Elementary Teachers’ Perceptions of Their Teaching Practice to Foster Creative Thinking in Their Students"
  • Third place: Emily A. Gilliam, $100; major: recreation and sport management; presentation title: "Why Women Discontinue Participation in Sports: A Qualitative Study"
  • Honorable mention: Rebecca M. Braun, $50; major: childhood education; presentation title: "The Evaluation of the VAC Literacy Program"

Several workshops were also held during the day.
